The Flyers pulled ahead with a run in the fourth and held that advantage until the top of the sixth, when the Rockets tied the game yet again. The stalemate didn't last long though, and Dayton scored the eventual winning runs in the bottom of the sixth to secure a win over the Midnight Blue and Gold.

- AJ Montoya hit his 30th home run last weekend against Ball State, becoming the fourth player all-time in program history with at least 30 home runs, joining Dan Sherwood (35, 2008-11), Jared Hoying (34, 2008-10), and Bill Bronikowski (30, 1994-97).
- Last season, Toledo took two out of three at Bowling Green, including a 20-4 win over the Falcons. The last time the series was held at Scott Park, BG took two out of three from the Rockets (April 1-3, 2016).
