Sammy Richart Finished 69th at 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials

Omaha, NE – Toledo graduate Samantha Richart (Saline, MI) came in 69th place in the 100-meter breaststroke at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Swimming Team Trials at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha, NE.

Richart touched at a time of 1:11.55, one second shorter than her qualifying time, 1:10.51, but not fast enough to qualify for the Olympic team. Lilly King was the winner of the 100 breast preliminaries and finished at a time of 1:06.45. The finals will take place on Tuesday, Jun 28 at 6:45 p.m.

"Even though it wasn't my best performance I was thrilled to be there competing with the best swimmers in the world," said Richart. "The atmosphere was incredible. I have never been to a meet with that kind of energy and I was so proud to have been able to represent Toledo in my last race."
