11/19/2015 5:10:00 PM

KINGSTON, RI - Toledo (0-2) will look to bounce back from a pair of season-opening losses when it travels to Rhode Island to take part in the URI Tip-Off Classic on Saturday-Sunday, Nov. 21-22. The Rockets will battle America East Conference member Albany (2-0) in the first round on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. in the Thomas M. Ryan Center. UT will then take on either host Atlantic-10 Conference member Rhode Island (0-2) or Ivy League participant Harvard (1-1) in the second round on Sunday at either Noon or 3:00 p.m.

The Rams will be the home team and play the earlier scheduled game on Sunday. Consolation and championship contests will be played accordingly on that day.

UT has accumulated a 56-47 (.544) all-time ledger in tournament action, including a 22-5 (.815) mark under coach Tricia Cullop.

The Rockets, who will look to avoid starting the year 0-3 for the first time since 1978-79, have secured eight tourney crowns under Coach Cullop and 11 overall in program history.

UT enters this weekend's action on the heels of a 74-39 setback at No. 3 Notre Dame (2-0) on Wednesday at Purcell Pavilion.

Toledo was limited to 23.7 percent (14-of-59) from the field against the nationally ranked Fighting Irish, including 11.8 percent (2-of-17) from three-point range, to fall to 3-19 against nationally ranked opponents since 1995-96.

Senior Brenae Harris, junior Sophie Reecher and redshirt freshman Mikaela Boyd led the Midnight Blue & Gold with eight points each. Reecher added a team-high six rebounds and a career-best three steals.

Kathryn Westbeld paced ND with a game-high 13 points, followed by Madison Cable with 11 and Lindsay Allen had 10, respectively. Allen added a contest-best nine assists and preseason ACC Player of the Year Brianna Turner swatted a game-high five shots.

Toledo will face a red-hot Albany team which has won its first two contests this season by an average of 27.5 points (73.5-46.0). Most recently, the Great Danes claimed an 83-43 triumph at Boston University on Wednesday.

For the second straight game, Shereesha Richards and Imani Tate each scored 20-plus points, with Richards finishing with 22 points and nine boards and Tate tallying 20 points, six caroms, four steals and three assists.

UA posted a 24-9 overall mark in 2014-15, including 14-2 in the AEC, and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. The Great Danes, who are No. 14 in this week's College Insider Mid-Major Top-25 Poll, have two starters returning for sixth-year head coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson and have been picked first in the AEC preseason poll.

Toledo and Albany have met one time on the hardwood with the Rockets registering a 53-39 victory on Nov. 22, 2011 at home.

Following this weekend's tourney, UT will remain on the road and travel to St. Bonaventure on Sunday, Nov. 29. The opening tip against the Atlantic-10 member Bonnies is slated for 1:00 p.m. in the Reilly Center.
