Box Score ATHENS, OH – Mid-American Conference power Ohio proved to be too much for Toledo (3-18, 0-8 MAC) to handle on Saturday evening in a 3-1 (21-25, 25-23, 19-25, 10-25) defeat to the Bobcats (18-3, 8-0 MAC).
The Rockets were limited to a .117 team attack percentage, while Ohio registered a .247 hitting mark,
Junior OH Mallory Salis tallied a match-high 15 kills to pace the Bobcat attack

Saige Thomas paced Toledo offensively for a second-straight evening with 14 kills with junior RSH
Mary O'Connor contributing eight kills and three blocks.

Rachel Vidourek was UT's defensive leader at the net with five blocks to go along with six kills.

Carly Townsend quarterbacked the Rockets' offense with 36 assists and also collected six digs.
The opening set was tied at 19-19 but the Bobcats closed it out with a 6-2 spurt for a 1-0 lead in the match.
UT rallied from a 12-8 deficit in Set 2 and took a 19-15 advantage with five straight points highlighted by a Vidourek kill and two combined blocks from O'Connor and Vidourek. Ohio rebounded to even the score at 20-20, but Thomas tallied the Rockets' final three kills for a two-point win.
Ohio halted Toledo's momentum in the third set by racing out to a 17-7 lead thanks to five kills by Salis. The Rockets refused to go quietly, though, putting together a 12-5 run to cut Ohio's lead down to three at 22-19. The Bobcats allowed Toledo to get no closer, though, closing out the third set for a 2-1 lead.
The fourth set was dominated by the hosts, as Ohio hit an impressive .652 with 15 kills and no attack errors in 23 total attacks en route to a decisive 15-point set win.
Toledo returns home next weekend for a pair of matches. UT will host Bowling Green on Friday, Oct. 23 at 7:00 p.m. before facing Miami on Saturday, Oct. 24 at 5:00 p.m.
