TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo Women's Volleyball Head Coach
Brian Wright announced the signing of three student-athletes to the Rockets' 2026 recruiting class on Thursday afternoon.
Audrey Dyas, Jadyn Kennedy and Lucy Monahan will start competition in the fall of 2026.
"Our staff is really excited to bring in this group and continue the tradition of recruiting amazing young women with big dreams," said Wright. "This is a group of highly talented volleyball players who are also excellent academically, have high aspirations in life and want to chase Mid-American Conference championships."
The following is a look at the incoming three signees:
Audrey Dyas | Middle Blocker | Lakeside Park, Ky. | Notre Dame Academy
A middle blocker from Lakeside Park, Ky., Audrey Dyas was an AVCA High School Third Team All-American and two-time First Team All-State player at Notre Dame Academy. She also earned 2025 AVCA All-Region and AVCA Girls High School All-America Watch List honors. Dyas ranked top-five in hitting percentage in the state of Kentucky and helped her team win the 2022 Kentucky State High School Championship. She also was a member of the state championship runner-up squad in 2023 and brought home Kentucky State All-Tournament Team accolades in 2025. Dyas earned academic all-state honors in each of the past four years.
Why Toledo? "I chose the University of Toledo because of the coaching staff and the culture they have created on campus."
Coach Wright on Dyas: "Audrey is an extremely high IQ competitor who consistently brings her best to everything she does. She finds ways to win through her athleticism, will and ability to push and find the best in those around her. She believes in our ability to win championships and will be ready to get to work on day one."
Jadyn Kennedy | Defensive Specialist/Libero | Oregon, Ohio | Clay HS
A defensive specialist/libero from Oregon, Ohio, Jadyn Kennedy was a four-year letterwinner in volleyball at Clay High School. Kennedy was a two-time first team all-league honoree, and also earned first team all-district, second team all-league and second team all-district accolades throughout her career. She tallied over 1,000 career digs throughout her time at Clay and set the program record for career digs.
Why Toledo? "I chose to attend the University of Toledo for many reasons. My top priority is education and I believe that Toledo's academics are superior. After attending the recruiting camp in the summer of my junior year, I felt like I had found my new home. After meeting the coaches and players and getting to experience what Toledo Volleyball feels like, I knew it was the place for me."
Coach Wright on Kennedy: "Jadyn is a high level libero who has played with and against the best in the country for years. Her experience of playing the speed and physical level of volleyball she's been a part of allows her to walk on campus and be ready to go. Jadyn grew up not far from campus and can have a major impact on the program and community."
Lucy Monahan | Middle Blocker | Lambertville, Mich. | Bedford Senior HS
A middle blocker from Lambertville, Mich., Lucy Monahan was a two-time MIVCA D1 SEC First-Team and All-Region honoree. She also earned 2024 MIVCA All-State Honorable Mention accolades following her junior season at Bedford Senior HS. Monahan was named to the AVCA High School All-Region Team and earned a spot on the AVCA High School All-America Watch List. She averaged 1.3 blocks per set throughout her high school career and was ranked No. 2 in the state of Michigan in total blocks throughout her senior campaign.
Why Toledo? "Choosing to play volleyball at the University of Toledo was one of the most meaningful decisions I have made. For me, it wasn't just about joining a competitive program, it's about staying true to my roots, investing in my community, and becoming part of something bigger than myself. I feel incredibly lucky to have an amazing volleyball program right in my backyard. Toledo is the city where I was born and raised. Being able to stay here, surrounded by the people and places that support me, means everything. This is my home, and now I get to give back to it in a powerful way by representing it on the court and contributing to its growth off the court. The UT Rockets volleyball team is a family led by coaches who are deeply committed to our success. They are focused on building a culture of excellence, empowerment, and community impact. What excites me most is the opportunity to help grow the game of volleyball in my back yard. The University of Toledo is investing in the future of volleyball, and I'm proud to be part of that movement. Whether it's through youth clinics, community outreach, or simply being a role model for younger athletes, I know that my time here will make a difference. Playing for the Rockets will allow me to chase my dreams while staying grounded in the place that made those dreams possible. I'm honored to be able to play for Toledo and to represent a city that has given me so much. Now, it's my turn to give back, and I couldn't be more excited for the journey ahead."
Coach Wright on Monahan: "Lucy is a dynamic athlete with a fast arm and a lot of upside. She grew up not too far from campus and has come to many matches in Savage over the years. She has an amazing appreciation for what we're building and how great Toledo Volleyball can be."
