Rockets Fall to Cleveland State, 3-0

Toledo, OH - Toledo (3-9) suffered a 3-0 (30-20, 30-26, 30-25) setback to Cleveland State (9-2) in a non-conference contest tonight at Savage Hall.

Senior OH Kate Bean led the Rockets with 16 kills with sophomore OH TaNeisha Winters also in double figures with 11 kills. Senior L Lora Sarich led UT with 14 digs.

The Vikings controlled the first game, outhitting the Rockets by a .286 to .059 margin. CSU was led by freshman OH Liz Fazio's nine kills and .615 attack percentage and freshman OH Alexis Korovich's five digs. UT was led offensively by the trio of senior OH Kate Bean, junior OH Sarah Kreher and junior OH TaNeisha Winters with three kills apiece with senior L Lora Sarich notching a team-high five digs.

Toledo rallied from an early 14-7 deficit in the second game and was fighting back-and-forth with CSU until a late four-point Viking run sealed the deal. Sophomore MH Jenni Ramminger paced Cleveland State in this game with five kills and a .714 attack percentage and Sophomore L Jordan Bateman notched a team-high seven digs. Bean carried the Rockets' attack with eight kills and a .250 attack percentage with Winters contributing a team-high seven digs.

The Vikings also controlled much of the third game although the Rockets did come within 25-24 on a Bean kill.

Toledo returns to action tomorrow night at Michigan State with its final non-conference contest of the season.
