Final Stats

Toledo, OH - Toledo (13-9, 6-4 MAC) rebounded from its heartbreaking defeat to MAC West Division leader Eastern Michigan on Friday night with a resounding 3-0 (30-17, 30-15, 30-21) sweep this afternoon over Central Michigan (3-17, 0-10 MAC).

The Rockets registered a season-high .421 team attack percentage and limited the Chippewas to a -.011 hitting mark. Senior Kelsey Culver led the way for UT with 11 kills in 17 attack attempts for a .647 ATK%, while junior Kate Bean also was in double figures for kills with 10. Bean and junior Lora Sarich led UT's defense with nine digs apiece with senior Corrie Magnus recording a team-high four blocks.

"I was very happy with how we responded after a tough loss last night to Eastern Michigan," Toledo Head Coach Kent Miller said. "We came right out and took it to Central and didn't let them establish any momentum. Our performance was one of our best of the season and we need to continue to maintain that type of approach down the stretch."

The Rockets jumped on the Chippewas early in all three games. UT led 8-2 in the first game and extended their advantage to 18-9 en route to coasting to the win. UT registered a .581 hitting percentage in the game and committed just two attack errors. Culver led the way with six kills (.750 ATK%) with Bean (.500 ATK%) and senior Chelsey Poquette (.625 ATK%) each notching five terminations.

The second game followed the same script with UT scoring 11 straight points with sophomore OH Sarah Kreher serving to take a 16-3 lead. Toledo hit an impressive .429 clip with just two attack errors again. Kreher led the Rockets with four kills and an .800 ATK% in the game.

In Game 3, Toledo surged to a 14-4 advantage and substituted liberally the rest of the way as every player on the active roster played. Bean was the team's kill leader with five as seven different Rockets collected kills.

Toledo returns to action next weekend with a pair of matches at Savage Hall vs. Western Michigan on Friday, Oct. 28 at 7:00 p.m. and Northern Illinois on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 3:00 p.m.
