TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo junior
Joad Martinho was named the Mid-American Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Martinho led the Toledo men's cross country team at the Princeton Fall Classic on Friday, Oct. 17 in Princeton, N.J. The Aulnay-sous-Bois, France native set a career-best 8K time as he crossed the finish line at 23:14.9 to place eighth overall. This is the second-straight meet in which Martinho has earned a top-10 finish, as he placed fifth individually at the Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational in Chicago on Oct. 3.
The Rockets placed 17
th as a team in a 31 team field and finished ahead of three MAC opponents: Eastern Michigan, Buffalo and UMass.
Toledo returns to action at the MAC Championships in Buffalo, N.Y. on Saturday, Nov. 1.
