Toledo trails only Indiana State for longest streak in nation
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's volleyball program has earned its 24th straight AVCA Team Academic Award sponsored by INTENT, the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced on Wednesday.
The AVCA honored more than 1,400 collegiate and high school volleyball programs that maintained a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale.
Toledo, Bowling Green (24) and Indiana State (26) are the only three NCAA Division I schools that have won the AVCA Team Academic Award for at least 24 straight seasons.
The Rockets posted a 3.505 team GPA in the spring semester and also placed six student-athletes on the Academic All-MAC squad last fall:Â Taylor Alt, Claire Eiden, Abby Erickson, Izzy Granger, Ryann Jaqua, and Macy Medors.
