Box Score BOULDER, Colo. – The Toledo women's volleyball team fell to Colorado 3-0 (22-25, 15-25, 15-25) on Saturday night.
The Rockets (6-2) battled in a back-and-forth first set with several ties and lead changes, but runs in the second and third sets finished off the match for the Buffaloes.
Kayla Ozanich led the offense with six total kills.
Jessica Costlow and
Iremnur Elmas each added five terminations of their own. Elmas recorded only one attack error and added two service aces.
Ozanich and
Anna Alford had five total blocks on the evening, while senior setter
Kelsey Smith recorded her second double-double of the season with 17 assists and 13 digs and added two service aces.

- The Rockets started the first set off fast, grabbing a 5-1 lead behind kills from Iremnur Elmas and Kayla Ozanich. Colorado came back to tie the set at 5-5, before jumping ahead to a 15-10 lead. Two aces from Kelsey Smith and a 5-0 surge put Toledo back in front, 19-16. The Buffaloes regained the lead, 22-20, with a 6-1 run and took the set win with a kill.
- Colorado jumped out to a 10-4 lead in the second set and used a 5-0 run to extend its lead to 16-5. The Rockets chipped away, using an ace from Sydney Crowley and blocks from Smith and Ozanich to close the gap to 22-14. The Buffaloes grabbed the set victory with an ace.
- Toledo put together four-straight points to tie the third set, 8-8. However, Colorado regained the lead and fired off a 6-1 run to take an 18-11 lead. Back-to-back kills from the Buffaloes secured the match win.
