TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's volleyball team will face Ball State in the 2024 Mid-American Conference Volleyball Tournament quarterfinals on Friday. First serve is set for 6:30 p.m. from the Stroh Center in Bowling Green, Ohio and will air on ESPN+. Friday's match marks the fourth consecutive season that the Rockets will be in the conference tournament

The tournament begins with No. 5-seed Buffalo meeting No. 4-seed Western Michigan at 4:00 p.m. followed by the Rockets and Cardinals at 6:30 p.m. The winner of the Buffalo/Western Michigan match will face the No. 1 seed Bowling Green at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday while the winner of the Toledo/Ball State matchup meets No. 2-seed Central Michigan at 6:30 p.m. The championship match will take place on Sunday at 4:00 p.m.

ROCKET NOTES

• Toledo finished the regular season with a 10-8 conference record, marking the fourth-straight season the Rockets have won double-digit conference game and advanced to the MAC tournament.
• The Rockets rank third in the MAC in team service aces (183) and are fourth in the league in aces per set (1.68), blocks per set (2.21) and digs per set (14.94).
• Three Rockets earned MAC postseason honors. Taylor Alt was named to the All-MAC First Team while Grace Freiberger and Sierra Pertzborn earned All-Freshman team honors.
• Alt is third in the MAC in kills per set (3.72) and total kills (402). Alt averaged 3.69 kills per set during conference play.
• Freiberger led the conference in digs per set (5.07), ranking 14^th in the nation and tied for first among all freshmen. Freiberger averaged 5.65 digs per set in conference play, good for first.
• Pertzborn led Toledo and ranked sixth in the league in blocks per set (1.07) and total blocks (113).

ABOUT BALL STATE

• Ball State finished the season with a 13-5 mark in MAC play, winning nine of their last 10 matches to clinch the No. 3 seed.
• Carson Tyler was named the MAC Freshman of the Year averaging 3.35 kills per set in league play.

SERIES STUFF

• The Rockets and Cardinals met twice during the season, with Ball State sweeping both matchups.
• Friday's match marks the third time that Toledo and Ball State have met in the MAC Tournament. The first matchup was Nov. 26, 1993 when Ball State won, 3-0. The Rockets and Cardinals met on Nov. 19, 2010 and Toledo took home a 3-0 win.
• Ball State leads the all-time series, 75-12.
