TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo's Laura Nicholson was tabbed this week's Women's Track Athlete of the Week, the Mid-American Conference announced today.

Nicholson turned out two huge personal-best times to lead the Toledo women's track & field team at Michigan's Wolverine Invitational last Saturday. In her first indoor meet in the Midnight Blue and Gold uniform, Nicholson won the mile with a PR time of 4:41.74, which ranks fourth all-time for UT. The Cork, Ireland native also finished seventh in the 800m with a time of 2:12.06, which ranks sixth in UT's history.

Nicholson's mile and 800m times rank second and seventh, respectively, in the NCAA Great Lakes Region.

This is the first weekly conference honor for Nicholson and the first for UT this season. The Rockets' last Women's Track Athlete of the Week honoree was Lou Trois on Feb. 8, 2023.

Toledo will be back in action this Saturday, Jan. 20 at Eastern Michigan's Bob Parks Memorial in Ypsilanti, Mich.
