TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's soccer team heads into the thick of its Mid-American Conference schedule this week with two important matches, beginning with a road game at Ohio on Thursday, Oct. 5 at 4:00 p.m. The Rockets will then honor their senior class at Paul Hotmer Field at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 8 in match vs. Akron.

Toledo (4-5-2, 1-2-1 MAC) opened last week with a close 2-1 loss at Ball State on Thursday afternoon. The Rockets bounced back on Sunday, edging out Central Michigan 1-0 for their first conference win of the season with the lone goal coming from junior
Mia Leonetti.
UT ranks third in the conference with 17 goals, 13 assists, and 51 saves. Senior
Madison Medalle leads the Rockets' offense with six goals (third in MAC) and three assists (third in MAC), while junior
Olivia Dault has put a team-high 14 shots on target (fifth in MAC). Redshirt freshman
Brielle Young has been in goal for all three of UT's shutouts and has an average of 4.50 saves per game (third in MAC).
Scouting the Competition
Ohio (4-5-2, 2-2-0 MAC) took on Northern Illinois and Bowling Green last week, defeating the Huskies 3-1 and falling to the Falcons 2-0. The Bobcats' goalie Celeste Sloma leads the league with 47 saves and a .810 save percentage. On the offense, Shae Robertson leads the team with four goals (seventh in MAC) and 11 shots on goal (ninth in MAC).
Akron (2-9-0, 0-4-0 MAC) has lost its last four games, most recently in back-to-back 1-0 shutouts to BG and NIU last week. The Zips' keeper Sara Bower is second in the league with an average of 4.75 saves per game.
Toledo is 16-12-0 all-time vs. Ohio and 14-5-2 against Akron.
