Rockets Drop Sunday Matinee to Miami, 1-0

Toledo concedes winner in first half to RedHawks

TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo women's soccer team fell in a 1-0 decision to Miami at Bobby Kramig Field on Sunday.
 
The Rockets (3-4-5, 0-3-3 MAC) conceded a first-half goal to the RedHawks (7-5, 4-2 MAC), which proved to be the difference. After the 24th-minute tally, Toledo generated some offensive pressure in the remainder of the first half and had chances in the second, but could not find the equalizer.
 
Shots were 6-4 in favor of Miami and shots on goal were even at two. The RedHawks held a slight edge in corners, 5-4.
 
STAT LEADERS KEY MOMENTS
  • 13' | A Miami header off of a corner was steered just wide of the left post.
  • 18' | Toledo made a rush up the field starting from their own goalbox, and Kaema Amachree's shot from just outside the Miami 18 forced a diving goalkeeper save and a Rockets' corner.
  • 24' | A Miami cross dropped in the middle of the box and Katie O'Malley finished with her left foot for a 1-0 RedHawks' lead.
  • 81' | An in-swinging free kick from Toledo took two deflections in front of goal, but Molly Kennedy's try in front of the net was denied by the goalkeeper.
