TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's basketball team visits Eastern Michigan this Saturday in Mid-American Conference action. The Rockets (14-4, 5-2 MAC) and Eagles (11-7, 3-4 MAC) will tip off at 1:00 p.m.
Toledo is coming off a convincing 82-63 win over Miami at home on Wednesday. Toledo led by seven at the end of the first quarter before shooting 10-of-14 from the floor in the second quarter to take a 42-17 lead into halftime. The lead would grow to a game-high 38 points near the midway point of the third quarter and settle at 19 points when the final horn sounded.
With the win, Toledo has now won 14 of its last 15 home MAC games and sits alone in third place in the conference standings. The Rockets are a game back of both Bowling Green (17-2, 6-1 MAC) and Ball State (16-4, 6-1 MAC), and one game ahead of Akron (13-5, 4-3 MAC), Kent State (12-6, 4-3 MAC), and Western Michigan (9-9, 4-3 MAC).
Quinesha Lockett scored a game-high 22 points vs. the RedHawks and has now scored at least 20 points in four of her last five games. She is averaging 21.3 PPG in MAC play, one of four players in the league scoring at least 20 PPG in conference play. The Omaha, Neb. native entered rare air on Wednesday, passing former Rocket greats Kelly Savage and Kim Sekulski to move into sixth place all-time in career scoring in school history.
Lockett leads the Rockets and ranks fifth in the MAC in scoring (17.4 PPG) with Sammi Mikonowicz (9.5 PPG) and Khera Goss (9.3 PPG) second and third on the team, respectively. Lockett has scored in double figures in all but one game this season and Goss has 10 outings of 10 point or more, second-most on the team. All three players are shooting at least 47% from the floor and anchor the offense of the third-best shooting team in the MAC. Toledo ranks third in the league in field goal percentage (45.4%) and has shot the ball especially well as of late, connecting on 49.6% of its shots over the last five games.
On the flip side, the defense has held opponents to a sub-40% field goal percentage in eight of the last 10 contests, including a 35.8 FG% on Wednesday night vs. the RedHawks. The Rockets are holding opponents to 39.0% shooting on the year, which ranks third in the MAC, and they're even stingier on the perimeter, sitting atop the MAC in three-point field goal percentage defense (28.6%).

- Following the win over the RedHawks on Wednesday, the Rockets have won 14 of their last 15 home conference games. Toledo is also 13-2 in its last 15 road MAC games.

Eastern Michigan will enter Saturday's game with a record of 11-7 and a 3-4 ledger in conference play. EMU sports a 7-3 home record and has won two of its three home MAC games this year. The Eagles rank in the bottom third of the league in scoring offense (64.4 PPG) but are fifth in scoring defense, allowing 63.8 PPG. Two players average double figures in scoring: Lachelle Austin (12.5 PPG) and Ce'Nara Skanes (12.1 PPG), and Skanes leads EMU in rebounding as well (8.0 RPG).
