MADERIA BEACH, Fla. – The Toledo softball team opened The Spring Games in Maderia Beach, Fla. Friday evening with a 7-1 setback to LIU Brooklyn.
In the first game of the day, Toledo was leading Niagara 6-1 at the top of the second when it was ruled delayed due to weather. The Rockets and Purple Eagles will resume tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m.
In Toledo's second game, LIU Brooklyn held a 1-0 lead in the third inning when Toledo tied the score on sophomore

Sidney Griffith. The Sharks added four more runs in the fourth and added another run in the seventh to claim the 7-1 victory.
Toledo will resume play vs. Niagara at 9:00 a.m. followed by games vs. Purdue and Bucknell at 1:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., respectively. The games will be streamed via
FloSoftball.
GAME 1 – Toledo 6, Niagara 1 (suspended in second inning due to rain)
GAME 2 – LIU Brooklyn 7, Toledo 1
- LIU Brooklyn got scored the leadoff run off an RBI double in the second.
- Jenna Kroll hit a groundout to the pitcher in the third to bring around the ting run for the Rockets 1-1.
- The Sharks added four runs in the fourth to make it a 5-1 ballgame.
- The Sharks lead was extended to  6-1 off an RBI double with two outs in the sixth.
- The final run of the game was scored off an RBI single in the seventh for the Sharks to make the final score 7-1.
