TOLEDO, Ohio – Junior Khera Goss has been named the Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week by the Mid-American Conference, per an announcement on Wednesday.
Goss is a psychology major who carries a 3.485 cumulative GPA and was an Academic All-MAC selection last season. On the court, she was Toledo's leading scorer last week, averaging 13.5 PPG across two wins against #14 Michigan and Dayton.
In Thursday's landmark victory at Michigan, Goss scored 11 points of 5-of-8 shooting, and was 3-for-3 from the floor in the fourth quarter while scoring seven points. Goss' and-one with 1:23 to play made it 67-66 and swung momentum back in favor of the Rockets, setting up their first win over a ranked team since 2009. On Sunday at home vs. Dayton, Goss came back and led Toledo with a career-high 16 points and went 4-of-4 from the free throw line to help lead her team to its fifth straight win.
Goss is tied for second on the team in scoring (9.2 PPG) and is shooting 49.3 percent from the field this season.
Following final exams this week, Toledo's next game will be Wednesday, Dec. 21 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Oakland. The Rockets then begin Mid-American-Conference play on Wednesday, Jan. 4 vs. Western Michigan.
