Amelia Lee Leading Way After Day One of Mid-American Challenge

LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. - Toledo made an eight-stroke improvement from its first to second round at the Mid-American Challenge on Monday in its season-opening tournament of the 2021 season. The Rockets are in eighth place at the par-72, 6,068-yard Royal Lakes Golf Course.

Sophomore Amelia Lee and freshman Angel Hii posted Toledo's top two scores today. Lee carded the Rockets' best round with a one-under 71 in the second round and is tied for 17th place at three-over par 147 (76-71).

Hii was consistent throughout the day with a pair of two-over par 74's and is tied for 19th place at four-over 148. Lee is tied for fourth in the field in par-three scoring at three-under, while Hii ranks second with 28 pars. The remainder of the Rockets' lineup consists of freshmen Macy Hanus (T-47th/79-77=156), Kait Natividad (T-56th/79-82=161) and Cheryl Hong (T-56th/83-78=161).

Florida Gulf Coast leads the 11-team field at two-over 578.

The tournament's final round will be played tomorrow.
