KETTERING, Ohio – The Toledo women's golf team registered its best round of the fall and is in third place following Monday's opening two rounds of Dayton's Flyer Invitational at the NCR South Course. The Rockets tied tournament leader Butler for the best round of the day with an 11-over par 295 this afternoon and trails only the Bulldogs (596) and Kennesaw State (603) in the team standings.
Sophomore
Valeria Lizcano is leading Toledo at four-over par on the par-71 course, two strokes behind the individual lead. Lizcano and sophomore
Rachel Mackinlay each carded one-over par 72s this afternoon, while sophomore
Brooklyn Millard contributed a three-over par.
Lizcano is tied for second in the field with a team-best six birdies, including four in the second round. She was at three-under par in her first eight holes.
Mackinlay tallied three birdies this afternoon and closed out her round with eight straight pars.
Ohio State's Mandy Song and Butler's Treva Dodd are leading all individuals at two-over par.
The third and final round will begin tomorrow morning with a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start.
