KETTERING, Ohio – Sophomore
Brooklyn Millard registered her second-straight Top 10 finish on Tuesday to lead the Toledo women's golf team to a fifth-place tie at Dayton's Flyer Invitational. Millard shot a two-over par 73 today to tie for sixth place at 11-over par over 54 holes on the par-71, 5,854-yard NCR Country Club course.
Millard was even-par through her first 13 holes today before bogeying the 14
th and 17
th hole. She lead the Rockets with 33 pars in the tournament.
Sophomores
Valeria Lizcano and
Rachel Mackinlay each tied for 22
nd place at 16-over par and tied for third place in the tourney with nine birdies.
Freshman
Alice Tonts tied for 27
th place at 17-over par after playing her first 12 holes today at even-par.
"I'm incredibly encouraged by what I saw at the Flyer Invitational — our team continues to show grit and growth," first-year Head Coach
Ali Green said. "Brooklyn had another standout performance, and it's been such a joy watching her thrive event after event. I'm also so proud of Alice, who's been growing steadily and showing remarkable consistency. Their progress is a reflection of the hard work they're putting in, and I'm excited to see how our last event in the fall goes."
Butler's Treva Dodd captured medalist honors at five-over par to help the Bulldogs win the team title at 44-over par.
Toledo will close out its fall season in two weeks when it travels to Arden, N.C. for UNC Asheville's French Broad Collegiate Invitational on Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 27-28.
