Box Score Mount Pleasant, MI – Central Michigan (10-29, 3-6 MAC) plated its lone run on an infield single in the first inning to claim a 1-0 victory over Toledo on Saturday, April 23 at Theunnisen Field. With the loss, the Rockets fall to 8-31-1 and 3-11 in the Mid-American Conference.
 
Senior LHP 
Ross Achter was tagged with the tough-luck loss after scattering eight hits, fanning four batters and allowing just an unearned in 6.2 innings. The Oregon, OH native was phenomenal once again. Achter has allowed two earned runs or less in six of his last seven outings and has not had an outing last less than five frames. Junior RHP 
Josh Cales also threw 1.1 innings in relief and allowed just one runner to reach base on a hit batsman. Cales fanned one during his outing.
 
Nick Deeg threw a complete-game shutout for CMU, scattering six hits and striking out five batters in the victory.

Central Michigan scored the game's only run in the first on Daniel Robinson's infield single that scored Zach McKinstry. The run was unearned due to a passed ball earlier in the inning.
 
Toledo threatened in the ninth with a Bollinger single and Cales walk, but was unable to extend the game.
 
UT will wrap up the series on Sunday, April 24 at 1:05 p.m. against Central Michigan. Junior RHP 
Sam Shutes is expected to take the mound for the Rockets.
