Mount Pleasant, MI – Toledo downed Central Michigan, 3-0, for the second time this season. With the victory, the Rockets improve to 13-10 for the season and 6-5 in the Mid-American Conference. The Chippewas drop to 9-14 overall and 3-8 in conference play.

"Our team played really well and was focused from the start," said head coach
Greg Smith. "This match was a great rebound from last weekend and we saw a lot of very solid performances tonight. We need to get ready to bring this kind of intensity on Saturday."

Setting the pace for UT's offense was junior MB
Rachel Vidourek, who notched 13 kills for a .571 ATK%. Junior MB
Annie Beasley followed closely with 10 kills and a .444 ATK%.

Maurissa Leonard led the way defensively, tying her career-high of 32 digs. Junior DS
Lauren Bakaitis trailed with 13 digs and sophomore DS
Andrea Stephenson added 10. Leonard and Bakaitis each recorded two service aces.

Vidourek propelled the Rockets to a victory in the opening set by recording seven kills and zero errors. UT never trailed in Set 1.

Toledo outhit the Chips .556-.143 in the second frame en route to a decisive 25-13 victory.

Unlike the first two frames, Set 3 was a tight battle that saw 17 tied scores and nine lead changes. Toledo halted a CMU win by knotting the score at 25 with a kill from Beasley. The lead switched hands five more times before Toledo pulled ahead with a termination by senior RSH
Mary O'Connor and an attack error by the Chippewas.

The Midnight Blue & Gold will compete in their final road match of the season on Saturday, Oct. 29 when they take on Eastern Michigan for the second time this season in Ypsilanti, MI at 8:00 p.m.
