CLEVELAND, OH – Three Toledo women's cross country runners were named to the 2015 women's cross country Academic All-MAC team on Tuesday, which was voted on by faculty athletic representatives at Mid-American Conference institutions. Â

Stephanie Barlow, sophomore
Julia Mendiola and senior
Julia Pusateri were all named to the squad.
"It's a great honor for the women," head coach
Linh Nguyen said. "Balancing schoolwork and being a Division I athlete is difficult and they are succeeding at both."
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
Barlow, an elementary education major, holds a GPA of 3.871. The San Antonio, TX native ran in five races for the Rockets. She ran a season-best 6K time of 21:53.1 at the 2015 Wisconsin adidas Invitational where she placed 196
th. Barlow placed 30
th at the MAC Championships with a time of 22:09.5
Mendiola, a biology major, holds a GPA of 3.889. The Akron, OH native ran in five races for UT with a season-best 5K time of 19:27.9 at the UB Stampede XC Invite where she placed 40
th.Â
Pusateri, an individualized studies & public health major, holds a GPA of 3.719. The Canton, OH native ran in six races for the Midnight Blue & Gold with a season best 6K time of 21:54.9 at the 2015 Wisconsin adidas Invitational. Pusateri placed 109
th at the MAC Championships with a time of 22:55.6.
