Toledo Wraps Up 2015 Campaign This Weekend

      TOLEDO, OH – Toledo wraps up its 2015 season this weekend in Savage Arena with a pair of home matches vs. Central Michigan (11-16, 6-8 MAC) and Eastern Michigan (12-15, 4-10 MAC). The Rockets will host the Chippewas on Friday, Nov. 13 and the Eagles on Saturday, Nov. 14. Both contests will begin at 7:00 p.m. and be viewed live on ESPN3 as well as the WatchESPN app.
      Following Saturday's match vs. EMU, the Rockets will honor their two seniors, setter Alex Hines and defensive specialist Maddie Strall, for their achievements with the Midnight Blue & Gold.
      Toledo will look to rebound from last weekend's two road setbacks and finish its season on a winning note.
      Freshman OH/MB Gracey Tuifua led the way offensively for the Rockets at Northern Illinois and Western Michigan last weekend, recording 19 kills in the two matches. Sophomore MB Rachel Vidourek and sophomore OH Saige Thomas each added 13 terminations, while Vidourek posted a team-high .414 attack percentage and tied her career high with a .588 hitting mark against the Broncos.
      On the defensive end, freshman libero Maurissa Leonard posted a team-high 20 digs with Strall closely behind with 18. Sophomore OH/MB Annie Beasley topped the team with six blocks, while Thomas totaled five rejections.
      The Rockets' defense is led by Leonard, who ranks fourth in the league with 5.19 dps in conference action. The Oregon, OH native was named the MAC West Defensive Player of the Week the first two weeks of conference play for her standout performances in the UT backcourt.
      Sophomore MB Rachel Vidourek paces UT with a .314 attack percentage and 0.85 blocks per set. Vidourek's hitting mark ranks her sixth in the league.
      Sophomore OH Saige Thomas leads the team with 2.59 kps followed closely by Vidourek (2.43 kps) and junior RSH Mary O'Connor (2.06 kps).
 
SCOUTING CENTRAL MICHIGAN
      The Chippewas need one victory or an Eastern Michigan loss this weekend to secure a berth for next week's MAC Tournament. Central Michigan posted a 3-1 home win over the Eagles last Thursday before being swept at Ohio.
      CMU ranks third in the MAC with 2.20 blocks per set and fourth with a .220 attack percentage.
      Senior MB Angelique White is fifth in the league with a .302 hitting mark and sixth with 1.02 bps, however, she has been sidelined since Oct. 23 with an ankle injury. Sophomore OH Jordan Bueter ranks third with 0.38 saps and sixth with 3.28 kps.

SCOUTING EASTERN MICHIGAN
      The Eagles fell in four sets to both Central Michigan and Kent State last weekend.
      Senior libero Corynne Smith has been named MAC Defensive Player of the Week four times this season. She notched a season-best 37 digs last Thursday at CMU before adding 19 more at Kent State. Smith's defensive efforts have landed her second in the league with 5.36 digs per set.
      Senior OH Stacey Perinar is second in the MAC with 3.66 kills per set. She recorded 29 terminations over the weekend.
 
LEONARD ANCHORS BACKCOURT
      Freshman Maurissa Leonard has emerged as the Rockets' defensive leader after taking over as UT's starting libero on Sept. 5.
      Leonard leads UT with 4.53 dps and has tallied 30 or more digs on four occasions. She collected a season-high 32 digs versus Ball State (Sept. 24) and Western Michigan (Oct. 2) as well as 30 against Evansville (Sept. 5) and Youngstown State (Sept. 11).
      Leonard ranks fourth in the MAC with 5.19 dps in conference play.

MULTIPLE THREATS IN ROCKET ATTACK
      Freshman OH Gracey Tuifua led he Rockets with 3.17 kps last weekend, while sophomores Rachel Vidourek and Saige Thomas each posted 2.17 kps.
      Vidourek posted a team-high .414 attack percentage last weekend, while Tuifua ranked second with a .220 hitting mark.

      Rachel Vidourek ranks sixth in the MAC with a .314 ATK%...Maurissa Leonard is fifth with 4.62 dps...Alex Hines is eighth with 9.13 aps...UT ranks sixth in the MAC with 15.49 dps.
 
ROCKETS VS. THIS WEEK'S FOES
• Central Michigan holds a 45-19 advantage over Toledo following a 3-0 victory in Mount Pleasant on Oct. 10.
• Toledo trails its all-time series vs. the Eagles by a 66-13 margin, including a 3-0 setback in Ypsilanti, MI on Oct. 9.
 
A LOOK AHEAD
      Toledo wraps up its 2015 regular season vs. Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan. UT will face the Chippewas (10-15, 5-7 MAC) on Friday, Nov. 13 and the Eagles (12-13, 4-8 MAC) on Saturday, Nov. 14.
