TERRE HAUTE, IN - The No. 21 Rockets concluded their season with a 30th place finish at the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, IN. Senior Mackenzie Chojnacky paced Toledo with a 99th place showing and a time of 21:12.
"Your worst day at nationals is still better than your best day at home," head coach
Linh Nguyen said. "I could not be any more proud of this group of women. Things have not gone smoothly for us this year and we dealt with our share of bumps but every time these women pulled together and got the job done. I wouldn't trade them for any group in the country and they made me, the program, and the University proud this year."
Senior Brooke Tullis crossed the finish line in 21:20 and in 118th place while fifth-year transfer Cara DeAngelis placed 178th and sophomore Janelle Noe placed 179th. Senior Priscilla Timmons ran a 21:58 and classmate Liz Weiler finished with a time of 22:04.
"We're excited to move this talented group to the track now and continue to show we're one of the best distance programs in the country," Nguyen said.
Michigan State took the top spot in the team event while Iona's Katie Avery placed first in the individual race with a time of 19:31.
