TOLEDO, OH - The Toledo women's volleyball team was unable to get anything going on Friday night, falling to Kent State 3-0 (25-15, 25-22, 25-21) in a Mid-American Conference contest.
The Rockets were limited to a .034 attack percentage in the match, as the Golden Flashes racked up 8.5 total blocks.
Freshman OH Annie Beasley led the Rockets with eight kills, while sophomore OH Alyssa Ehrhardt and freshman libero Lauren Bakaitis each posted double-digit digs, with 11 and 13, respectively.
Ehrhardt recorded five kills, and senior MB Brooke Frazer posted six.
Junior S Alex Hines tallied 23 helpers in the contest, and also added nine digs and four kills (.500 ATK) in a well-rounded match.
The Rockets took an early 9-5 lead in the second set, but Kent State scored the next four points to tie it up. Following a 10-10 tie, Toledo fought back for a 15-12 lead, but were outscored 13-7 down the stretch.
In the third set, the Midnight Blue & Gold kept it close, but fell 25-21.
The Golden Flashes posted a .264 hitting percentage, and were led offensively by senior OH Tinuke Aderemi-Ibitola with a match-high 12 kills, and junior OPP Kelly Hutchison with seven kills.
Toledo will take on defending MAC Champion Ohio on Saturday in Savage Arena. The match is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m.
