TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - Senior guard Justin Ingram scored 26 points and hit 5-of-8 three-point shots Saturday to lead Toledo to an 80-68 victory over Western Michigan for its 10th straight Mid-American Conference win over two seasons. The Rockets also extended their homecourt win streak to 10 games and the victory was their ninth straight over WMU in Savage Hall.
Ingram scored 13 points and hit three of his three-pointers in the first half as the Rockets (7-8, 3-0) took a 43-27 lead at the intermission.
Toledo stretched its lead to 58-38 on sophomore guard Jonathan Amos' dunk with 13:26 remaining. The Broncos (6-10, 1-2) then went on a 12-2 run, pulling to 60-50 on a free throw by Michael Redell with 9:51 left but got no closer.
Senior forward Florentino Valencia had 14 points for the Rockets and senior forward Keonta Howell and junior forward Jerrah Young added 13 apiece, while junior guard Kashif Payne dished out a season-high eight assists.
Joe Reitz and Shawntes Gary led Western Michigan with 18 points each. Derek Drews added 10.
Toledo returns to action on Tuesday, Jan. 16 when it travels to Ypsilanti, MI to face Eastern Michigan (7-9, 2-1 MAC). Tip-off time is set for 7:00 p.m.
