TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - DaJuane Collins ran for two touchdowns in the fourth quarter as Toledo pulled away to a 41-7 victory over McNeese State Saturday night.
Toledo (2-2) started the scoring on its opening drive with a 35-yard field goal by Alex Steigerwald, followed by a 1-yard touchdown run by Brandon Summers. Jalen Parmele scored on a 5-yard run with 3:58 left in the first half.
Derri Fourroux's 31-yard touchdown pass to Quint Lawrence with 56 seconds left in the first half capped an 80-yard, 10-play drive to get the Cowboys (1-2) on the board.
But Steigerwald kicked another field goal with three seconds left in the half to bring it to 20-7.
Brandon Summers' 40-yard pass to Andrew Hawkins got the scoring started in the second quarter for the Rockets and was followed by Collins' 31- and 9-yard runs. Collins led Toledo with 91 yards on eight carries.
Summers completed 11 of 17 passes for 121 yards and had no interceptions. Fourroux completed 9 of 17 passes for 108 yards and had one interception.
