CLEVELAND, Ohio – Toledo football running back
Chip Trayanum has been named the Mid-American Conference's Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced this week.

Trayanum earned the award after an explosive performance against Western Kentucky in Toledo's Week 2 victory. He amassed a career-high 163 rushing yards on 14 carries, scored two rushing touchdowns and caught a third touchdown through the air.

Trayanum scored two rushing touchdowns for the third time in his career and had three total scores for the first time. His final score of the game was a 75-yard rush to open the second half, Toledo's longest run since Dec. 30, 2023.
The senior was also named the MAC Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.

The Akron, Ohio native is majoring in general studies and holds a 3.585 GPA.

To qualify, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better and have a worthy performance during the week's competition. One male and one female student-athlete from the conference is selected each week. This week's award was the first for the MAC in the 2025-26 season.

The Rockets (1-1) return to the gridiron this week, taking on Morgan State at the Glass Bowl on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 3:30 p.m.
