CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference named Toledo senior running back
Chip Trayanum the MAC Football Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.

Trayanum had an explosive Week 2 performance against Western Kentucky in Toledo's 45-21 win in the home opener on Saturday. He rushed for a career-high 163 yards on 14 carries with two rushing touchdowns, while also adding a receiving score on two catches and 13 yards.

The senior made two trips to the end zone in the first quarter, scoring on Toledo's opening possession on a one-yard touchdown dive, before closing the quarter's scoring with a 10-yard touchdown reception.

The Akron native then started out the second half with a 75-yard run to the end zone on the first play from scrimmage to put Toledo up 38-7, helping the Rockets put the game away in the third quarter. The run was Toledo's longest since
Jacquez Stuart rushed 80 yards for a TD on Dec. 30, 2023 and is the longest run in the MAC this year.

The two rushing scores marked the third time in his career and first time since 2021 that Trayanum rushed for two TDs in a game. Trayanum's three total TDs were a career high and the receiving score in the first quarter was the first of Trayanum's career.

Through two weeks, Trayanum leads the league and ranks 23rd in the FBS with 102.0 rushing yards per game, and his 7.29 yards per carry are second in the MAC and 16th in the FBS.

Toledo (1-1) will face Morgan State (0-2) for Week 3 action on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 3:30 p.m. in the Glass Bowl.
