1. You are just in your second year with the program, but you are one of the leaders of the team. What makes you a good leader?
I try to lead by example. I may not be the team's most vocal player, but I let my play do my talking for me.

2. The team has experienced some success this season, especially in close games. What is different about this year's squad compared to last year's team?
This year I've felt we have done a better job of just not giving up and keeping playing. The games do not always go according to plan toward the start, but this year we've kept plugging away and eventually someone comes up with that big hit or that clutch pitch.

3. Talk about the difference on the playing field between when you played at Glen Oaks Community College and now at Toledo?
It is like the same comparison you would make between middle school and high school. The game is a little faster paced and you have to be on your feet a little more. The pitchers also throw harder and balls are hit at you harder.

4. You are playing shortstop next to sophomore 3B Scott Boley and a freshman 2B Jake Oester. Have you been a teacher or mentor for both of them on the field, because one will most likely replace you next season?
When I was growing up I looked up to the older players and now that I'm there, I try to do the same for those two and any of the other young guys on the team.

5. The game is on the line and you have the chance to be the hero. Would you get more satisfaction from hitting a game-winning home run or making a back-hand stop deep in the hole between short and third and throwing the man out and why?
I'd rather make the defensive play. I've always prided myself on defense, so I think that is the strong point in my game. I can hit a little bit, but I think my offense feeds off my defense.

6. You are studying early childhood education. What are your plans after college?
One of my career goals is to become a coach as well as teach little children.
