Sudbrook hit .467 with seven RBIs in matchups against Michigan, Akron last week
TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo redshirt junior infielder Troy Sudbrook has been named the Mid-American Conference Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced this week.

Sudbrook's nod comes after a strong week on the field against Michigan and Akron last week. He hit 7-of-15 (.467) with a .933 slugging percentage, four doubles, a home run, seven RBIs and five runs scored.

The Avon, Ohio native started his week with a 2-for-4 performance at Michigan, before going 3-for-3 at the plate with a home run, five RBIs and three runs scored in Friday's 13-1 win at Akron. The five RBIs tied a career high. He also recorded hits in Saturday's and Sunday's contests, leading to a series win against the Zips. Sudbrook held a 12-game hitting streak after last week's action, the longest streak for a Rocket this season.

Sudbrook also notched a pair of milestones, reaching both 100 career RBIs and 100 career runs last week.

In the classroom, Sudbrook is currently pursuing his Master's in Business Administration (MBA) after graduating in the fall with a degree in finance. He holds a 4.0 cumulative grade point average.

The MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week is given to one male and one female student-athlete from the conference every week who maintains a 3.0 cumulative GPA and have a worthy performance in that week's athletic competition.

Sudbrook also received the award once last season and is a CSC Academic All-District and Academic All-MAC honoree.
