Head Coach Stan Joplin

(opening comments)

"It's obviously a disappointing loss for us because I thought we had a shot to win. Miami made some shots down the stretch and I thought there was a questionable call at the end of the game when Juby Johnson was fouled. I thought he traveled. That was probably the biggest play of the game other than their two threes. The official had his explanation and we didn't see eye-to-eye on it. Miami deserves a lot of credit for making shots late in the shot clock after we went up by four points. We just didn't make plays. We had a chance to get a rebound after a missed free throw but we didn't block out and they were able to run more time off the clock. We didn't do the things we needed to do to get the win."

(on Miami making shots toward the end of the shot clock)

"We knew that was going to happen. It does let the air out of the balloon when that happens. That's when your players really have to be patient. For the most part we were patient and that definitely hurt. Now we just have to bounce back."

(on Miami's threes at the end of the game)

"We wanted to give weakside help but we stayed in one spot too long. We didn't react quick enough and we were kind of snakebitten because they were able to make those threes with the shot clock winding down."

Senior guard Keith Triplett

(on taking a lead in the second half after being down in the first half)

"I felt we had control of the game until Hatcher hit those threes to put them back up. Then they got the call at the end of the game and Johnson hit his free throws."
