TOLEDO, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference released its annual men's basketball preseason poll on Tuesday morning and Toledo has been picked to finish sixth, according to voting from the league's 13 head coaches. In addition to the team predictions, junior Sonny Wilson was named to the Preseason All-MAC Second Team.
 
Akron was predicted to win the league by the head coaches, receiving 11 of 13 first-place votes and 143 points. Miami was picked to finish second with 133 points, followed by Kent State (122 pts.), Ohio (108 pts.), UMass (98 pts.) and Toledo (95 pts.). 
 
Wilson was a Third-Team All-MAC selection for the Rockets a year ago after ranking second on the team with 15.3 ppg, 4.8 rpg and 3.2 apg. Sophomore guard Tyler Ode and sophomore forward Jaylan Ouwinga also are back for UT this season.

Toledo has added transfers Sean Craig (Sr., F, 6-7, 220, IUPU-Indy), Austin Parks (Jr., C, 6-10, 250, Ohio State), Chris Riddle (So., G, 6-5, 213, DePaul), Mynor Strong (So., G, 6-3, 175, Dodge City C.C.) and Kyler Vanderjagt (Sr., G, 6-4, 205, Central Michigan).

Toledo's regular season begins on Monday, Nov. 3 when it hosts South Alabama in the MAC-Sun Belt Challenge at 7:00 p.m. in Savage Arena. The Rockets open MAC play on Tuesday, Dec. 30 with a home matchup vs. Western Michigan.
