TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - Junior guard Keith Triplett scored 22 points as Toledo (10-11, 4-7 MAC) used a second-half surge to defeat Bowling Green (10-11, 6-7) by a 73-59 margin tonight.

Redshirt freshman guard Sammy Villegas added 16 and senior guard Nick Moore tallied 13 for the Rockets.

Cory Ryan scored 22 and John Reimold 10 for the Falcons (10-11, 6-7). Kevin Netter, the Falcons' leading scorer with a 16.1-point average, was held to five points.

Villegas and Moore both made three-pointers during an 11-2 run that stretched Toledo's lead to 59-48 with 5:44 to play. The margin never went below seven points after that.

Bowling Green led 28-23 at halftime. Toledo took the lead at 38-31 with 14:48 remaining on a Villegas dunk capping off a 15-3 run to begin the second half. The Falcons then regrouped to take a 41-40 advantage on a Netter basket, but Moore connected on a trey with 12:14 left for a 43-41 lead and UT never trailed again.

The Rockets were 14-for-28 for 50 percent from the field in the second half while limiting the Falcons to 9-for-23 for 39.1 percent. UT also forced the Falcons to commit 26 turnovers, the most by a Rocket opponent this season.

Toledo will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 15 when it hosts Central Michigan (15-5, 8-3 MAC) at Savage Hall at 7:00 p.m. The Chippewas trail MAC West Division leader Northern Illinois (13-9, 9-3 MAC) by a half-game in the standings.
