Toledo (4-4-0, 1-3-0 MAC) saw its bid for its first two-game winning streak of the season disappear with a 3-0 setback this afternoon at Kent State (4-4-1, 2-2-1 MAC).
The two teams played a scoreless first half with the Rockets outshooting the Golden Flashes in the first 45 minutes by a 5-3 margin.
KSU netted the game's first goal with just under 20 minutes remaining in the contest on a goal by junior midfielder Corie Van Korngut at the 72:41 mark. The Golden Flashes then added a pair of insurance markers by freshman forward Ashley Bohinc in the 84th minute and sophomore midfielder Nikki Lichtenfeld on a penalty kick in the final minute.
Senior goalkeeper Elise Donovan registered five saves in goal for the Rockets.
Toledo will return to action on Sunday, Sept. 29 with a 1:00 p.m. match at Akron.
