DAYTON, Ohio (AP) - Keith Triplett scored 21 points to lead four Toledo
players scoring in double figures Wednesday night as the Rockets (4-3) won their third in a row with a 98-84 triumph at Wright State (4-2). UT shot 68.6 percent in the contest, the fourth-best performance in school history and the best ever in a road game.
The Rockets took control of the contest early scoring 10 straight points to take a 23-13 edge with 10:45 remaining in the first half. UT stretched its advantage to as many as 17 points before settling for a 44-34 halftime lead.
The closest the Raiders came in the second half was eight points in the first five minutes. Toledo put the game away with 11 straight points for an 80-58 lead with 8:16 remaining.
Other Rockets scoring in double figures were Sammy Villegas (18 pts.), Nick Moore (17 pts.) and Anton Currie (16 pts.). Currie paced the Rocket offense in the first half with 14 points on 5-of-5 shooting, while Triplett led the attack in the second half with 19 points on 6-of-6 shooting.
Seth Doliboa scored 24 points and Vernard Hollins 20 for Wright State.
Toledo will return to action on Saturday, Dec. 14 with a 4:30 p.m. matchup vs. Detroit at Savage Hall.
