TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo men's basketball team will look to build momentum following Tuesday's 81-71 victory at Wright State when it hosts Detroit Mercy (1-2) on Saturday, Nov. 15. Tip-off time is set for 1:00 p.m. with streaming on ESPN+. Saturday's contest will honor all veterans as part of Military Appreciation Day.
Junior
Sonny Wilson is leading the Rockets with 16.0 ppg, with senior
Sean Craig (14.3 ppg), senior
Kyler Vanderjagt (14.0 ppg) and freshman
Leroy Blyden Jr. (12.0 ppg) also scoring in double digits. Craig is also grabbing a team-high 8.3 rpg and shooting 80.0% (4-of-5) from three-point range. Vanderjagt is leading the Rockets with seven three-point field goals to go along with a 53.8 3PTFG%, while Blyden is dishing out a team-best 5.3 apg.
Craig topped the Rockets with 21 points and nine rebounds in their win over Wright State. Joining Craig in double figures were Wilson (17 pts., 7 reb., 4 asst.) and Vanderjagt (15 pts., 5 reb.). Junior
Austin Parks provided a strong inside presence as well with a career-high 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting.
Toledo erased a five-point halftime deficit with a dominant second-half performance, outscoring the Raiders 47-32 after the break. The Rockets shot an impressive 61.3% in the second half and 56.4% overall.
Detroit Mercy was tabbed to finish ninth in the Horizon League's Coaches Preseason Poll. The Titans dropped their first two games at UIC (91-71) and Notre Dame (102-70) before posting a 92-54 home victory over Cleary College on Tuesday.
Sophomore TJ Nadeu is leading Detroit Mercy with 15.0 ppg, while junior Ayden Carter is averaging 13.7 ppg and a team-high 5.7 rpg.

RECAP OF LAST YEAR'S 82-67 ROAD WIN OVER DETROIT MERCY
Sonny Wilson returned to the Motor City and poured in a career-high 22 points to lead Toledo to an 82-67 road win over Detroit Mercy last year in Calihan Hall. Wilson tallied 15 of his points in the second half to help the Rockets (3-1) pull away down the stretch.
A Pontiac, Mich. native who attended Detroit Jesuit High School, Wilson also tallied six assists, grabbed five boards, and hit 9-of-15 shots from the field. Joining Wilson in double figures were
Sam Lewis (17 pts., eight reb.) and
Isaiah Adams (10 pts., 4 asst, 3 stl.).
Toledo shot 44.6% from the field and committed a season-low eight turnovers. The Rockets limited the Titans to a 43.1 shooting mark and forced 16 turnovers. UT also held a decided advantage at the free-throw line, knocking down 18-of-24 shots compared to Detroit's 9-of-16 totals.
The Rockets held a 36-35 lead at halftime before taking control midway through the second half. Toledo's lead didn't fall below eight points in the final eight minutes.

Toledo will host Youngstown State on Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 7:00 p.m. before heading to Fort Myers, Fla. to compete in the Geico Coconut Hoops event. The Rockets will face Troy on Monday, Nov. 24 at 11:00 a.m. before meeting either Belmont or Saint Francis (Pa.) on Wednesday, Nov. 26 at 11:00 a.m. or 1:30 p.m.
