2008-09: Took fifth in 200 backstroke against Akron (01/30/09)...Had six top-seven finishes in 200 butterfly, including season-best time of 2:16.86 against Miami (11/07/08)...Also competed in 100 breaststroke, 200 IM, 400 IM, 1000 free and 1650 free.
High School: Earned eight varsity letters as she was a four-year member of both swimming and water polo... Captained the swim team her senior year as well as earning the team’s Heart of the Tide award... Qualified for states each year she competed... Finished in the top eight during her senior year and top 16 during her junior year... Named the Most Improved Player award in 2006... Captained the water polo team during her senior year... Earned Rookie of the Year honors in her freshman year of water polo.
Personal: Born Michelle Leslie Thompson in Birmingham, MI on Feb. 1, 1990... Daughter of Bill and Suzie Thompson... Is the youngest of three children (sister Jennifer and brother Scott)... Has served as the assistant coach of the Birmingham Athletic Club... Majoring in arts and science.
