Rockets and Bulls split doubleheader at Scott Park
TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo softball split a doubleheader with Mid-American Conference foe Buffalo on Saturday at Scott Park. The Rockets fell in game one, 9-5, before picking up a 3-2 win in the series finale.
Prior to the doubleheader, Toledo honored its four graduating seniors – Eli Enriquez, Kylee Graham, Madison McKay and Grace O'Malley.
In the 3-2 victory, four Rockets posted multi-hit outings led by Eli Enriquez with her 20th game this season with two or more hits. Samantha Bolding crushed her 12th home run of the season, and 25th of her career, with a two-run shot in the fifth that put UT on the board. Jenna Bloomfield sent in the game-winning run with a sac fly in the sixth.
Redshirt freshman Reese Poston earned the start in the circle, tossing 4.1 innings and allowing two runs on three hits. Katie McDonald (10-10) picked up the win after throwing 2.2 innings in relief and holding the Bulls scoreless.
In game one, the Rockets fell behind early and were unable to close the gap. Audrey Miller tallied two doubles in the contest while Enriquez chipped in two RBIs. Freshman Lexi Johnson started the game before Poston appeared in relief and provided two scoreless innings.

- The Bulls added three more runs in the fifth to extend their advantage, 9-1. UT responded with three runs in the bottom of the frame thanks to RBIs from Eli Enriquez and Samantha Bolding to cut into the lead, 9-4.
- An RBI single from Payton Abiley in the sixth put Toledo within four, 9-5, but the Rockets were unable to get any closer.
- Buffalo got on the board first with a two-run home run in the fourth, 2-0.
- Samantha Bolding crushed her own two-run homer in the fifth to even the game, 2-2.
- Jenna Bloomfield tallied a sac fly to send in the game-winning run in the sixth, 3-2.
