Box Score TOLEDO, Ohio – Junior Matias Olivero's singles victory on the No. 5 court clinched the 5-2 win for the Toledo men's tennis team over IU Indy on Saturday at Shadow Valley Tennis Club, its first win of the 2025 dual season.
IU Indy (0-2) claimed the doubles point, earning an early advantage, but Toledo (1-1) claimed five of the six singles points for the victory.
On the No. 3 court, Lucas Beitez and Hanamichi fell to Paz/Thurin, 6-2. Joshua Mackey and Poonthong Komolpisut dropped the match, 6-4, to Kozerski/Viste, giving the Jaguars the doubles victory.
Toledo (1-1) struck first in singles play, claiming wins on the No. 2 and No. 3 singles courts. Komolpisut and Carvajal took down their opponents in straight sets on the No. 2 and No. 3 courts, respectively, to put Toledo ahead, 2-1. Sophomore Charlie Snow fell to IU Indy's Mercer on the No. 4 court in a hard-fought match, 6-7 (4-7), 4-6, to level the match 2-2.
Cole Cozens used a third set to defeat Paz on the No. 3 court to put Toledo ahead, 3-2. Matias Olivero then came back from a set down to beat Konner Gunwall, 5-7, 6-3, 7-5 to clinch match point for the Rockets. Junior Joshua Mackey recorded a three-set victory on the No. 6 court to close out the gritty win for the Rockets.

Toledo will return to Shadow Valley to host Butler (2-0) on Sunday, Jan. 26. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m.
