CHICAGO – Junior Poonthong Komolpisut and senior Hanamichi Carvajal led the way for the Toledo men's tennis team at the ITA Midwest Regional Tournament in Chicago, Ill. this past weekend.

Komolpisut and Carvajal teamed up in doubles play and reached the Round of 16 after taking down DePaul's Alejandro Gandini/Sebastain Medica 8-6 and Ohio State's Preston Stearns/JP Day, 8-6. The Rocket duo fell in the Round of 16 to No. 4 seed Luis Llorens Saracho/Peter Nad from Notre Dame in a tiebreaker, 8-7.

Carvajal posted a combined record of 4-2 on the weekend. The Santiago, Chile native fell to Notre Dame's Sebastian Dominko, the No. 1 overall seed and No. 10 ranked singles player in the country, in a three-set match before picking up a straight-set victory over DePaul's Elias Anwar.

Komolpisut picked up a singles win over DePaul's Tobias Leitner 6-3, 6-1. Junior Cole Cozens also recorded two singles victories, taking down Marquette's Luke Coppage and Illinois State's Jett Leong.

The Rockets will head to the MAC Indoor Championship on Oct. 24-26 in Kalamazoo, Mich.
