TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo unveiled its 2024 football schedule today with a home slate that includes a rematch of last year's MAC Championship Game vs. Miami on Oct. 5, as well as the Battle of I-75 vs. Bowling Green on Saturday, Oct. 26.
Toledo, which went 11-3 and won the MAC West Division title in 2023, opens the season with a home game ahead of the Labor Day weekend on Thursday, Aug. 29 vs. Duquesne. The Rockets then host UMass in a non-conference matchup on Saturday, Sept. 7 before hitting the road for games at Mississippi State on Sept. 14 and Western Kentucky on Sept. 21.
Following a bye week, Toledo begins Mid-American Conference play by hosting Miami on Oct. 5 in the annual Homecoming game. This will be the Redhawks' first visit to the Glass Bowl since 2011.
The Rockets then hit the road for contests at Buffalo (Oct. 12) and Northern Illinois (Oct. 19) before returning the Glass Bowl on Oct. 26 to host arch-rival Bowling Green. The final Saturday game of the season is at Eastern Michigan on Nov. 2.
Mid-week MACtion play begins for Toledo with home games vs. Central Michigan on Tuesday, Nov. 12 and Ohio on Wednesday, Nov. 20. The regular season culminates with a trip to Akron on Tuesday, Nov. 26.
The Rockets return six All-MAC players from last season's 11-3 squad, including
first-teamers Jerjuan Newton (WR),
Jacquez Stuart (KR) and
Maxen Hook (S). Also returning are tight end
Anthony Torres (second team), placekicker
Luke Pawlak (third team) and defensive tackle
Darius Alexander (third team).
