TOLEDO, Ohio – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association released its year-end Division I Men's Collegiate Tennis Rankings sponsored by Tennis-Point on Friday, and the Toledo men's tennis team finished at No. 8 in the Midwest Region. Additionally, Pawit Sornlaksup was ranked for the second time in his career as the No. 20 singles players in the Midwest Region.

The team ranking is the highest for the 2023 MAC Champions in program history after finishing No. 9 following the 2021-22 season. The Rockets turned in one of the best performances in their history, winning the MAC regular season and tournament titles, and earning their first-ever berth into the NCAA Tournament. Toledo finished with an 18-6 record and defeated rival Western Michigan twice for the first time under head coach Al Wermer's reign.

For the second-straight season, Sornalskup was ranked among the top-20 players in the Midwest Region, this season at No.12. MAC Player of the Year for the second straight season, Sornlaksup set the bar for competition after successfully defending the No. 1 singles court for 43-straight matches. He still remains undefeated against MAC opponents in dual-match play, winning 22-consecutive league matches. A native of Rayong, Thailand, Sornlaksup earned multiple honors at the end of the season including MAC Tournament MVP, MAC All-Tournament Team, first-team Al-MAC, and the ITA Midwest Region Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship Award recipient.
