TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo men's tennis team will look for redemption against the two of the top teams in the Mid-American Conference standings this weekend, Northern Illinois and Western Michigan.

The Rockets and Huskies are slated for a 2:00 p.m. (EST) first serve in the Nelson Tennis Center at Chick Evans Field House on Friday, April 7. UT will then head Kalamazoo, Mich. to visit the Broncos for a 1:00 p.m. match on Sunday, April 9 at the Sorensen Courts / West Hills Athletic Club.

Toledo's only two conference losses this season have come against NIU on March 17 and WMU on March 19. With just two weeks left until the 2023 MAC Championships, the Rockets are in second place in the conference standings with a 4-2 record. The Broncos are in first with a 6-1 league mark, while Huskies are in third place at 4-3. The top four teams will advance and play on Saturday-Sunday, April 22-23 in Kalamazoo, Mich.

About the Rockets (12-5, 4-2 MAC)
Toledo is coming off a series sweep vs. Ball State after posting its third-straight win. The Rockets won the doubles team point for the 10th time in their last 11 matches en route to their second 4-3 victory over the Cardinals.

Pawit Sornlaksup has been unstoppable this season. His win from the No. 1 court last weekend marked his 37^th-straight victory and 18^th-straight MAC match win since joining the Rockets' program last season, the longest streak in program history.

Krzysztof Wetoszka is the only other undefeated Rocket in MAC play this season and has won nine-straight MAC matches recalling back to last April. Wetoszka's win over BSU's Vince Orlando was his first two-set victory since the Chicago State match on Feb. 17.

About Northern Illinois (12-7, 4-3 MAC)
After defeating the Rockets on March 17, the Huskies have lost three of their last four matches to Ball State, Western Michigan and most recently to Buffalo. NIU's lone win vs. Binghamton last Friday was career win No.200 for head coach Patrick Fisher. Iker Gaztambide Arrastia brings a team-best 14-5 individual record, mostly from the No. 5 court, into this weekend of competition.

About Western Michigan (10-8, 6-1 MAC)
Western Michigan won five straight matches to open conference play before falling to Buffalo and No. 29 Cornell last weekend. WMU bounced back with a sweep over Binghamton to get back in the win column by winning the doubles team point for the first time in seven matches. The Broncos will face Ball State on Friday morning before playing host to Toledo on Sunday afternoon.
