TOLEDO, Ohio – With the Toledo softball team still in the hunt for a spot in the Mid-American Conference Tournament in three weeks, the Rockets host Northern Illinois in an important three-game series at Scott Park this Saturday-Sunday, April 22-23.

About Toledo (16-21, 9-10 MAC)
Toledo took three-of-five games played last weekend including the series sweep at Kent State. The Rockets had a strong hitting performance in the series opener with Central Michigan, pounding out 12 hits en route to a 5-1 victory. In the two games against the Golden Flashes,
Aubrey Reed went 4-for-6 with four runs scored, four RBIs, a double and two home runs, including a three-run dinger to give Toledo the 6-4 victory in the series opener.
Rockets Notes
- Erin Hunt (11-11) picked up two wins last week to put her at 58 in her career, the third-most of any UT pitcher. She trails Tami Johnston (1984-87) who had 71 victories in her career and Christina Chadwick (1989-92) who leads the program with 72 wins.
- Hunt is second in the conference with a 2.27 ERA and has held opponents to a .200 average.
- Jenna Kroll's home run vs. CMU bumped her up the Toledo career list to No. 8 all-time with 18 and is one behind Rhonda King (1987-90) who hit 19 homers in her career.
- The Rockets rank sixth in the MAC with a .279 batting average and the bullpen is fourth in the conference with a combined 3.34 ERA.
About Northern Illinois (20-19, 10-7 MAC)
Northern Illinois had its last non-conference game on Wednesday afternoon, a 6-0 victory over DePaul, its first over the Blue Demons since 2000. Prior to that, the NIU split two games against the conference-leader Ohio. Kelly Walinski leads the Huskies with a .351 average, a .500 slugging percentage, 40 hits and 24 RBIs. Caitlyn Schumaker leads the conference with 26-of-30 stolen bases attempts this season.

Toledo will head out on its last road series of the season to face Ohio for mid-week action next Tuesday-Wednesday at the Ohio Softball Field.
