TOLEDO, Ohio – For the second time this season, University of Toledo junior
Pawit Sornlaksup was named the Mid-American Conference Men's Singles Player of the Week, the league announced on Thursday.
Sornlaksup was on the winning end of a two-set decision vs. Wayne State's Cedric Drenth, followed by a another two-set triumph over Dayton's Connor Bruce, and ended the weekend with a two-set victory vs. Xavier's Ryan Cahill.
Sornlaksup is undefeated playing on the No. 1 singles court this year and has won 28 straight matches from that position. He won all three of his matchups last weekend and helped the Rockets win two of its three matches.
Sornlaksup was also named MAC Singles Player of the Week this season on Jan. 19, and has six weekly honors to his name in his career.
Toledo will have a doubleheader match on Friday. Jan. 17 vs. Duquesne and Chicago State at Shadow Valley Tennis Club.
