TOLEDO, Ohio – University of Toledo junior
Lou Trois was named this week's Mid-American Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday.
The Lannion, France native had a successful performance at the Michigan Invitational on Saturday afternoon in Ann Arbor, Mich. in her first meet of the 2023 indoor track & field season. Trois finished runner-up in the mile with a time of 4:46.91, the fastest by a Rocket this season. Her mile time is the fastest in the MAC and fifth in the NCAA Great Lakes Region.
Trois also participated in the 800m run and finished fourth with a time of 2:12.55, which is the third-fastest in the conference and ninth-fastest in the NCAA Great Lakes Region.
This is Trois' first weekly conference honor this season and third in her career. Last season, Trois was named MAC Track Athlete of the week on Dec. 12, 2021 and Feb. 2, 2022.
Trois and the Rockets resume competition this weekend at the University of Findlay Alumni Classic on Friday-Saturday, Jan. 20-21.
