ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Toledo softball faced a powerhouse in No. 19 Michigan Tuesday night in Ann Arbor, falling to the Wolverines, 8-0.
Michigan tacked on three runs in the opening inning, and added two runs off RBI singles in the third to build up to a 5-0 lead. The Rockets had runners on base in in the third, fourth and fifth innings, but could not score. The Wolverines ended the game in the fifth inning with three RBI singles to make the final score 8-0.
Toledo (7-13) will open Mid-American Conference play on Friday and Saturday vs. Western Michigan in Kalamazoo, Mich.

- Michigan took an early 3-0 lead in the first off a two-run single to centerfield, followed by an RBI double with one out.
- Lily Beyer singled to right field to get the first hit for the Rockets in the third with one out.
- The Wolverines added two runs in the third off two RBI singles to extend the lead, 5-0.
- Dayna Denner reached base for the Rockets off a HBP in the fourth but was left stranded.
- Lexi Eckman reached first on a bunt single in the fifth but was left stranded.
- The Wolverines hit two RBI singles in the fifth with no outs, followed by the game-ending single to left center.
