TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's basketball team faces its stiffest test of the season on Thursday when it faces No. 14 Michigan at the Crisler Center in Ann Arbor. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m. and the game will be streamed live on BTN+.
The Rockets (6-2) bring a 13-game road winning streak into Thursday's game against the Wolverines (9-0, 1-0 B1G). It's the nation's longest road winning streak and dates back to Dec. 29, 2021. Toledo is one of three teams to own an active road winning streak of at least 10 games, the others being No. 1 South Carolina (11 games) and No. 2 Stanford (10 games). During the streak, UT has notched victories at Cincinnati and Marquette as well as 2021-22 MAC stalwarts Ball State and Ohio.
Toledo has won three straight games, most recently dismantling Missouri State in a 91-63 victory at Savage Arena last Sunday. The win was the Rockets' first-ever over the Lady Bears, a perennial NCAA Tournament participant.
Five players scored in double figures in Sunday's win.
Quinesha Lockett and
Sophia Wiard scored 16 and 15 points, respectively, and three Rockets each scored 10 points:
Khera Goss,
Soleil Barnes, and
Lonasia Brewer. The 10-point outings for Barnes and Brewer mark season-high totals for both players and both went 4-for-4 from the floor.
Jayda Jansen was close behind with nine points.
Toledo shot an astounding 61.5 percent from the floor and made at least 50 percent of its shots in all four quarters, peaking with a 75.0 field goal percentage (9-for-12) in the third quarter. UT made 7-for-11 shots from three-point range with six players knocking down at least one triple. Toledo also shot 76.9 percent from the free throw line, making 20-of-26 shots.

- Thursday's game against No. 14 Michigan will be Toledo's first game against a ranked opponent since hosting No. 2 Notre Dame on Dec. 8, 2018.
- No team in the MAC has done a better job of getting to the free throw line and making its free throws than Toledo. UT ranks first in the league in free throws per game (21.8), free throws made per game (16.5), and third in free throw percentage (75.9). The Rockets rank in the Top 50 nationally in all three categories and sit 21st in free throws made per game.
- UT has made it to the free throw line at least 25 times in four games this season, including a season-high 33 times at Cincinnati.
- Justina King has been nearly automatic at the charity stripe, knocking down 19-of-20 free throws (95.0%). King's only missed free throw attempt was her first of the season, meaning she has made 19 free throws in a row in game action.
- The Rockets' 61.5 field goal percentage against Missouri State is the 16th-highest in Division I so far this season. There have been just 24 instances where a team shot at least 60% from the floor, 19 of which came against DI competition.
- Over the last three games, Toledo is shooting 52.6% (82-for-156) from the floor and 50.0% (20-for-40) from three-point range.
- The Rockets are one of the best teams in the country at taking care of the ball, ranking eighth in the nation in fewest turnovers per game (11.6). They also rank 15th in the country in assist/turnover ratio (1.33).
- The Rockets rank third in the MAC in scoring margin (+13.0) and have won four games by at least 20 points.
- Toledo ranks No. 65 in the initial NCAA NET Rankings, one of six MAC schools to appear in the Top 100.
- Both Quinesha Lockett (4.6) and Sophia Wiard (4.1) rank in the top five in the MAC in assists per game, ranking second and fifth, respectively.
- Lockett recently cracked the Top 10 in career points at Toledo, sitting in ninth place entering Thursday's game with 1,516 points. She is 57 points away from moving into eighth place and passing Kaayla McIntyre (2015-19). Kim Knuth (1995-99) is Toledo's all-time leading scorer with 2,509 career points.
- Three different Rockets have tallied double-doubles (Jessica Cook, Quinesha Lockett, and Sammi Mikonowicz), making Toledo one of just two MAC schools to have three different players with double-doubles, the other being Eastern Michigan.
- Mikonowicz ranks sixth in the MAC in rebounding (7.1) and has led Toledo in rebounds in six of eight contests. She has registered eight or more rebounds in four games this season, including a season-high 11 at Cincinnati.
